The Mizizi Project is a pilot program that has been designed to unite a select group of students and educators from the United States and rural Kenya through a collaborative virtual learning experience. Using a science-based curriculum delivered via teleconferencing and developed by the New York Hall of Science with input from the Kenyan Ministry of Education, the program will deliver lessons to middle school students from the furthest corners of the globe simultaneously.

Conceived and developed by e² education & environment, a not-for-profit educational initiative founded by Liz Titone and Elizabeth Eagle, The Mizizi Project is planned to launch in the fall of 2012. Currently, a four-person Mizizi team is gearing up for a spring research and development trip to the Sereolipi Primary School, where the team will work with local Samburu educators, students, warriors and education ministry members to fine-tune the curriculum and to lay the technical groundwork for the Project's rollout.

Although The Mizizi Project's long-term fundraising effort is underway, the successful execution of this key phase of the pilot's development will depend on the generous and near-term support of committed individual contributors. Please help us reach our $10,000 goal by making a tax-deductible donation that is comfortable for you. Donors who make a contribution of $150 or more will receive a beautiful 17" x 20" fine art photograph of your choosing (see images below) of the Kenyan community that will be participating in this dynamic new program.

You may make a donation through JustGive.org. If you prefer to pay by check or require further information, please email us.
