The Mizizi Project
The Mizizi Project is a pilot program designed to take science education and cross-cultural learning into the 21st century by uniting students and educators on opposite sides of the globe within a single collaborative virtual learning experience. By delivering a shared science curriculum through synchronous and asynchronous video conferencing, Mizizi will create a "global classroom" enhanced by the diversity of geography, culture and perspective it encompasses.

Partnership with Artworks for Youth
Co-founders Elizabeth Brown Eagle and Liz Titone took their backgrounds in photography to Port Elizabeth, South Africa to work with students in the Joe Slovo township. While studying documentary photography with John Lombardo of Artworks for Youth, these remarkable teens noticed that their community of 8,000 inhabitants was not on the city map for Port Elizabeth. This shocking fact inspired the group to photograph all that was dear to them in their community. Elizabeth and Liz jump further developed the project into a book and traveling educational exhibition titled Apha: Documentary Photography from Children in South Africa. Please visit the Apha blog and mini-site to view the work and leave comments.
